Musi the Magnificent 🎶

Music plays a significant role in society. Almost everyone listens to music. Music is great because it has multiple genres for people to explore and enjoy.

Near the end of last year, my big sister, Natasha, showed me an app called Musi. This app is like YouTube, but way better. Unlike YouTube, people can continue playing their songs/videos even when their phone goes off.

I personally prefer to use Musi over Spotify or Pandora because the ads don’t last more than 10 seconds and they don’t interfere with the music being played. They’re mostly just pop-up ads for phone games or Apple Music. All you gotta do is click the ‘x’ on the screen and it goes away. And they don’t pop up so often either.

Another great thing about this app is that there’s a section where people can search different genres. That way, people can go to their favorite genre if they feel like exploring new artists. People can also create playlists and add their favorite songs. You can make as many playlists and add as many songs as you want.

Yeah. Musi is great. Ever since I downloaded the app, I’ve only ever used Spotify like once or twice, and I’ve never used Pandora again. Honestly, I think I should just delete those apps from my phone. Hmmm...whatever.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is: You should download Musi. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. And who knows, you might even like it better than Spotify!

After using Musi, I’ve started to develop a more diverse taste in music. The music I mostly listen to includes rap and hip-hop. However, since freshman year, I have been exploring new genres — from hard rock to indie pop. And I must say, I quite enjoy the music that I have begun to listen to.

Some rock artists that I like are Diamanté, Disturbed, Nirvana, and Skillet. These artists are really cool. I love their singing and the instrumentals. I mean, heavy metal and hard rock is just so... awesome!

Indie pop artists that I’ve started to listen to are Billie Eilish, Conan Gray, plus many more. I love how mellow some of the music can be. It really provides a breath of fresh air after having listened solely to a bunch of rap and R&B/hip-hop music for most of my life.

I was surprised to find out that some of these artists/groups fell into the genre of indie pop. For example, I listened to Billie Eilish before, but I didn’t know that she was considered an indie pop artist. Heck, I didn’t even know what indie pop was ‘til a few months ago!

Even though I’ve started to listen to different kinds of music, I still like rap and R&B/ hip-hop. Some of my favorite male rappers are Mozzy,  Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Kyle, Travis Scott, and so many others it’s hard to keep count. Some of my favorite female rappers are Missy Elliot, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B,and Dej Loaf. Since early 2018, I’ve begun to like Joyner Lucas, Dax, Matt Ox, ScHoolboy Q, and Famous Dex.

Some R&B/hip-hop singers that I love are Keyshia Cole, Tory Lanez, Trey Songz, Jeremih, August Alsina, Jacquees, Khalid, Bryson Tiller, Eric Bellinger, and my absolute all time favorite singer Chris Brown — well, besides Michael Jackson, of course.

Oh, and I also like pop. Madison Beer, Rita Ora, Charlie Puth, Alesia Cara, Sabrina Carpenter, Astrid S, Ellie Goulding, Bebe Rexha, The Weeknd, Halsey, Shawn Mendes, Why Don’t We, Bazzi, and Ariana Grande always bring the vibes.Other artists that I like are Jack & Jack, ItaloBrothers, Myles Parrish, Melanie Martinez, Miguel and lots more.

Hey, you wouldn’t mind if I listed a bunch of songs down below would you? Oh, who am I kidding! I’m gonna do it anyway! Make sure you peep at least one of the songs, and if you do, don’t forget to download Musi! It’s magnificent!
